Transparency statement

The Norwegian Transparency Act promotes respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions. Brødrene Andreassen Værøy AS works to ensure that production, purchasing and partnerships are conducted responsibly.

This statement covers our due diligence work, supplier follow-up and public information practice for the 2025/2026 period, adapted to our business as a producer of stockfish and lutefisk on Værøy in Lofoten.

01

About the company

Brødrene Andreassen Værøy AS is a family business and producer on Værøy in Lofoten. We produce stockfish and lutefisk based on Norwegian raw material, traditional processing methods and modern requirements for food safety, traceability and quality.

02

Period and governance

The statement is updated at least annually by 30 June, and otherwise when significant changes occur in operations, supplier chains or risk.

Our Transparency Act work is anchored in management and forms part of our ongoing work with quality, food safety, supplier follow-up and internal control.

03

Our principles

We shall respect fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in our own operations and in cooperation with suppliers and business partners.

We expect suppliers to comply with applicable laws, safeguard HSE, maintain orderly working conditions and oppose child labour, forced labour, discrimination and corruption.

04

Due diligence

We conduct due diligence based on the company’s size, industry, products and supplier chain. The work includes mapping actual and potential adverse impacts, assessing risk and following up where necessary.

Our key value chain relates to raw material, production, packaging, transport and services supporting production and sales. We prioritise suppliers and relationships where risk is considered highest or where our influence is greatest.

  • Mapping suppliers and key business partners
  • Assessing risk related to human rights and working conditions
  • Dialogue and follow-up where needed
  • Documentation of assessments and measures

05

Key risk areas

As a first priority, we assess risk related to raw materials, hired labour and services, packaging, transport and other suppliers that are important to production and sales.

In these areas we consider working conditions, HSE, traceability, contractual conditions and whether suppliers comply with applicable laws and requirements.

06

Measures and follow-up

If we uncover conditions that do not meet our expectations, we will seek dialogue and improvement measures. In cases of serious or persistent breaches, cooperation may be terminated.

Our Transparency Act work is ongoing. We update our assessments when significant changes occur in operations, supplier chains or risk, and the statement is updated at least annually.
