Our history
A small production environment for discerning customers
Brødrene Andreassen Værøy AS is a family-owned producer based on Værøy in Lofoten. The closeness to the fishing grounds, clean air and stable coastal climate give us raw material and a production environment few places can match.
We make stockfish and lutefisk with calm, precision and respect for the season. Every fish is dried, matured and graded before it moves on to packing and delivery.
The family company has long experience with stockfish and began producing ready-to-cook lutefisk in the 1970s. Today we combine generations of knowledge with modern production methods, quality assurance and sustainable operations.

Værøy
At the outer edge of Lofoten
Værøy is one of the outermost islands in Lofoten, known for its dramatic landscape and rich fishing grounds. The island has been inhabited for thousands of years, and fishing has always been the way of life.
It is here, surrounded by the mighty Norwegian Sea, that Brødrene Andreassen Værøy AS is based. The clean air, cold water and perfect drying conditions make Værøy an ideal location for producing stockfish of the highest quality.
